Chelvin Ramsamy, Continent Director, Africa.

Chelvin’s dream is to strive towards realising the SDGs, UN Vision 2030 and AU Agenda 2063, “The Africa We Want”, thus contributing to a better world. At 25, Chelvin has already won many leadership hats. Passionate about influencing Africa positively, Chelvin co-founded Let’s Glow Organization to promote educational, environmental and empowerment initiatives. He currently serves as Global Peace Ambassador, Continent Director for the Africa-Asia Youth Foundation (AAYFO), Country Representative
for both the African Youth for Development Commission (AYDEC) and the Innovation For Empowerment and Development (IFED), Assistant Country Director for the International Youth Society (IYS), Networking Lead for the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Mauritius Alumni Chapter and Finance Lead for the Youth Alliance for Leadership and Development in Africa (YALDA), Harvard University, USA.

Equally, Chelvin is a Tax Consultant at ‘Big Four’ accounting firm KPMG where he has won the KPMG Standing Ovation Award after merely 6 months and previously worked at the Financial Services Commission Mauritius, providing direct assistance to the Chief Executive and Chief Operating Officer in spearheading major projects in the non-banking, regulatory, insurance and global business sectors.

A top notch scholar with a First-Class Bachelor of Laws (LLB, Hons) and Master of Laws (LLM) in International Business Law from Middlesex University London, Chelvin is an advanced Master of Business Administration (MBA) candidate, expected to bag a High Distinction.
Recipient of the Most Outstanding LLB (Hons) 2016/17 Student Award and the Postgraduate Alumni Scholarship 2017, Chelvin is also a 2019 Bursary of the University of South Wales and previously stood out as a University of Cambridge A-Level Scholarship Ranked Candidate in high school.

Chelvin has undertaken President Obama’s YALI (Public Management and Governance Track) and was a Keynote Speaker for the Global Social Leader Forum 2017. He was nominated as the Top 100 YALI Alumni across Africa, playing a leading role in the YALI Alumni Conference 2019. Currently, Chelvin is enrolled in the Young Professional Development Program and the AGLA Transformed Leaders Program. Winner of the Noble Citizen Award and Outstanding Management Committee Member Award, Chelvin
forms part of the Pan-African family of exceptional professionals ready for 12 months deployment in mid2020 across the continent as African Union (AU) Youth Volunteer to drive its human development goals.
